This year at STA we are continuing to implement the Choose Love Program in our classrooms to support our students social and emotional development. This goes hand in hand with and adding a focus of growth mindset skills.
Throughout the year videos, articles and exercises will be provided that you can view. It will be informative and help support you with tools in practicing with your family to choose love at home and keeping a growth mindset! "Using the same formula and techniques as the Choose Love Enrichment Program, the Choose Love at Home program brings the message beyond the classroom. We recognize that in order to build upon, maximize, and sustain the teachings that children are learning at school, we must help their families share a consistent message of choosing love. The Choose Love at home program provides families with the emotional intelligence tools to model behaviors, set intentions, identify and manage emotions and to respond to every situation with love." -http//www.jesselewischooselove.org/choose-love-home/ |

Classroom guidance takes place approximately every other week in every classroom at STA. Guidance lessons are designed to be developmentally appropriate and proactive in nature and are based on the American School Counselor Association and Common Core standards focusing on students’ academic, personal/social and career development.
Classroom guidance also allows me the opportunity to grow relationships with each and every Pond Cove student. Having close connections to all Pond Cove students means that if/when a student is in need of additional support, they are more likely to feel comfortable talking with me and seeking me out.
